Politiconnection

I couldn't find a complete, up to date list of all the Kentucky state legislators who are on Twitter. So I made one. Several, actually.

Find and follow just your legislators. Or follow all the legislators with just one click. Or separate them by chamber or party to see what a particular group is saying.

If you don't know who your legislators are, you can search by your address here.

The Lists

Both chambers: All members and party caucuses

Senate

House of Representatives

Stay Up to Date

I try to keep track when legislators join Twitter, and immediately update the lists. So if you subscribe to the lists, you'll always be as up-to-date as I am. If I miss anyone, or you catch any other goofs, I'd be grateful for a heads-up: tweet @Politiconnect or email me.

Follow @Politiconnect to find out when the lists, or this project, is updated.

Twitter lists are just the beginning. Stay tuned…

Is this really every legislator?

As far as I know. I've searched for every legislator by name, and constantly monitor for newcomers.

Are all these accounts confirmed legitimate?

I've confirmed all these accounts as best I can short of getting every legislator to personally confirm their account. (If any legislators are reading this and would like to do so, by all means shoot me an email from your ky.gov email address.)

I've followed most of them myself for years, and so am very confident they are legitimate. In cases where I wasn't sure, I've (a) erred on the side of caution and (b) looked for references to the account on the legislator's website; looked to see if the account is recognized by confirmed legitimate accounts; etc.

Why do some legislators have multiple accounts?

Multiple Accounts Syndrome seems to be a catching disease in Frankfort. In cases where there are multiple apparently legitimate accounts, I've added them all.

I found a mistake.

Whoops. Let me know, would you? Tweet @Politiconnect or email me. Thanks!

What's the name?

Think politico + connection. Thanks to the internet, it's never been easier for politicos and constituents to connect—provided you know where to find your legislators online. I hope this makes it a little easier.

What about other social networks?

I'm working on that. Stay tuned…

Who maintains this?

Laura Beth Long. I love the state legislature and am passionate about the web's ability to help politicos and their constituents stay connected and informed—in both directions. Fun fact: I know a lot more about the Twitter API now than I did before making these lists.
